Together to the Moon – We did it!

The fourth edition of the national cycling campaign GoGo VELO, themed ‘Cycle to the Moon’, has come to an end – and was a resounding success! Around 2,100 motivated participants collectively covered an impressive 660,043 kilometres!

This far exceeded the original goal of 384,400 kilometres – the average distance to the moon – and it was almost enough for the return trip as well!

So: Mission accomplished!

A huge thank you to every single person who joined in the ride, clocked up the kilometres and helped achieve this fantastic result. You’ve shown just how much we can achieve together – for the climate, for our health, and for a more cycle-friendly Luxembourg.

This year, the title of ‘most cycle-friendly school’ goes to the Ecole Internationale Gaston Thorn, with the Lycée Edward Steichen and the Ecole privée Sainte Anne coming in second and third place respectively. A big thank you to all of them – and especially to the students!

The planning for the next edition this autumn (7 September – 18 October 2026) is already in full swing. Once again, there will be exciting challenges, sporting competitions and fantastic prizes. And not just at national level – local authorities and regions will also be taking part with their own challenges and attractive prizes!

But even between campaigns, GoGoVelo is still going strong!
Keep racking up the kilometres and let us know about any issues you encounter on the go via the feedback feature in the app.

A big thank you also to all the campaign’s partners and sponsors – GoGo VELO wouldn’t be possible without you!
